In a recent published interview with Paris Match magazine, Karl Lagerfeld reveals his true age, a subject of speculation over the years, with him having celebrated his 70th in 2008 and 79th only four years later. The Kaiser, as he is affectionately known, is in fact 77 years old, born in 1935.

“My mother changed the date. It was easier to make a 3 or an 8,” he said referring to earlier references of his birth year as 1938. “I found this out after her death and I don’t know why she did it.”
