The Lamborghini Urus SUV which was showcased as a concept vehicle about a year ago, has been green-lit for production, announced by the Italian automaker while celebrating its 50th anniversary during the 'Grand Giro'.
Speaking at the closing dinner of the event this past weekend, Audi boss Rupert Stadler confirmed that Lamborghini's first SUV will hit the production line and is expected to have the same platform as sister companies' Audi Q7 and the Porsche Cayenne.
The Sant'Agata Bolognese-based automaker hopes to produce around 3,000 Urus SUVs per year and retail mainly in the United States, Russia, China and the Middle East.
