The Oscar-winning actress, who is hotly tipped for another Oscar for her performance in Woody Allen's new film Blue Jasmine, was joined by one of her sons as she flew in from London for the New York Film Festival gala tribute at Lincoln Center.

The five-time Oscar-nominated actress also answered questions from the audience, revealing that Blue Jasmine is her favourite film role because "it felt like it was a culmination of my work in theatre and my work in film, so it was satisfying on a number of different levels."
