2014 Giraglia Rolex Cup to Drop Anchor in Monte Carlo

For its 62nd edition, the Giraglia Rolex Cup that has traditionally finished at the Italian port of Genoa, will drop its anchor this year instead at the new Monaco Yacht Club headquarters, announced at its grand opening by the organizers. On June 18, sailors will come from all over Europe to take part in this immensely popular regatta, which even allows experienced amateurs to enter the competition, comprising of up to 200 keelboats.

The race starts from Saint-Tropez, setting for Giraglia, then making a loop around the Corsican island before finally heading back to Monte-Carlo. In all, covering a total distance of 248 nautical miles.

From the docks, spectators will get to admire a wide array of boats, including giant yachts manned by over 20 crewmembers and charming smaller vessels.
