With his closest competitor and team Nico Rosberg retiring after having electronics problem in his vehicle around the fifteenth lap, Lewis Hamilton won the 2014 edition of the Singapore Grand Prix, which took on a new title sponsor Singapore Airlines this year. After a safety car incident, the Briton still had to build a considerable lead in order to fit in a mandatory tyre change, and he did so exiting with 4-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel ahead of him.
Hamilton soon swept past the German to claim his 7th victory of the season, taking the lead in the F1 championship with 3 points. Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo complete the podium.
