The NEW Archi Dior Campaign
By SENATUS Magazine | 13 April 2016

The new Archi Dior campaign photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, featuring the jewelry collection by Victoire de Castellane inspired by the architecture of Christian Dior's dresses.

Christian Dior had dreamed of being an architect, and throughout his professional life Christian Dior sought to transpose the principles of architecture to haute couture. Inspired by this unique creative vision, Victoire de Castellane adapts the inherent movement of fabrics to the language of precious stones and metals. And so the Bar en Corolle ring makes a reference to the Bar suit of 1947 and its emblematic jacket, as well as to the name of the first line in the New Look, the Corolle, whose silhouette stylized the delicate form of a flower. And this is precisely what the jewel expresses with its row of diamonds seeming to cinch golden gathers.

For a necklace and bracelet, the Cocotte dress from the spring-summer 1948 collection with its volume falling to the back gave rise to asymmetric jewels. "I wanted to create each piece in the same architectural way in which Christian Dior's dresses were designed, as if the jewels were fabrics that has been sculpted, ruffled, pleated, belted, draped," explains the designer.
