Demonstrating the close ties between the worlds of fine watchmaking and gastronomy, Blancpain hosted exclusive events over three days in Singapore dedicated to both the house’s "Métiers d'Art" expertise and its longstanding commitment to the Art of Living.
Joël Robuchon - a close friend of Blancpain for more than thirty years and the most Michelin-Starred Chef in history - was in attendance as a special guest, meeting collectors, media and VIPs at Blancpain's Marina Bay Sands Flagship store.
On this occasion, one of its master-engravers was present to perform live demonstrations of the Manufacture’s fine hand-crafted traditions.
Emmy Tellier - Regional Brand Manager of Blancpain S.E.A - emphasised in her welcome speech how passion and excellence have been guiding the work of our craftsmen since the Maison's founding in 1735. Alain Delamuraz - Vice-President and Head of Marketingat Blancpain – reaffirmed: "Constant innovation, quest for quality and respect for tradition is what contributes to the success of Blancpain as the world’s oldest watch brand." By pointing to the Métiers d'Art timepieces on display, he further underlined how the combination of both craftsmanship and technical know-how is essential to the art of authentic watchmaking.
Recognizing in Blancpain the values of precision, meticulous workmanship and passionthat he applies in his own cuisine, Robuchon chimed in agreement, "When cooking, I am always amazed to see how the simplest ingredients when put together purposefully create an amazing gastronomic masterpiece. The same is true for horological creations that harmoniously combine hundreds of small components into an extraordinary piece of art."
