Cantonese bar and restaurant, Sum Yi Tai located at 25 Boon Tat Street launches Lucky Mee, an Ipoh Curry Mee pop-up on its ground floor. Conceived to introduce and bring close one of Ipoh’s time-honoured staples to local audiences, the Lucky Mee pop-up menu runs from 23 March to 19 June 2020 during lunch time Mondays to Fridays at Sum Yi Tai’s Tapas Bar (ground floor).
#LuckyMee is a concept that shines the spotlight on Ipoh’s famed curry noodles in the Singapore CBD.
Prepared in Sum Yi Tai’s kitchen, based on the original recipe imparted by Sun Heng’s Boss Lady to Sandra Sim, the menu focuses on three signature versions of the dish, the Curry Mee Soup ($14++) and Curry Mee Dry ($14++). Made with a base of chicken broth peppered with the secret recipe of chillies and spices, the Soup version sets itself apart from the familiar thicker curry variants, with its absence of “lemak” or coconut cream, delivering a flavourful consomme-like profile for sips (and trust us, you will sip). The Dry version is a toss of curry gravy made from the same mix, with squeezes of dark soy sauce for a mouth watering experience.
