The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual, limited to 20 pieces, pushes the boundaries of inventiveness further that ever. Beating at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vph) to enhance chronometry, its new Calibre 388 features an entirely new triple axis tourbillon construction of three cages rotating on different axes and speeds, willing to counteract the effect of the Earth’s gravity.
Among the most challenging complications to master, it offers a perpetual calendar needing correction only in 2100. Its year indication shows the last digit of a leap year in red – a Jaeger-LeCoultre patent – and the moon-phase indication is accurate to 122 years.
The timepiece also features a grande date display: a classical yet rare complication, set at the 3 o’clock position on the hours-and minutes sub-dial, ensuring great legibility and refined precision.
