The Hublot x Samuel Ross Big Bang Unico SR_A is a wearable industrial machine #LVMHWatchWeek2026

Hublot and British designer Samuel Ross MBE have strengthened their creative dialogue with the debut of the Big Bang Unico SR_A.

This new chapter marks a significant evolution in their partnership, pairing the distinctive SR_A design language with the manufacture’s Unico chronograph calibre for the first time. While previous collaborations centered on sculptural tourbillons, this signature edition offers a more versatile expression of their shared vision.

The timepiece is defined by a monochrome aesthetic, featuring a 42mm case meticulously crafted from satin-finished and polished black ceramic. This choice of material brings a sleek, stripped-back quality to the bold geometry of the Big Bang line. Central to the design is Samuel Ross’s signature honeycomb motif, a pattern that establishes a strong architectural character and reinforces the industrial spirit of the series.

A newly developed structured rubber strap, created specifically for this reference, carries the honeycomb motif to the wrist. Samuel Ross explains that this design choice was about removing information from the watch to increase its lightness, resulting in a component that is both ergonomic and visually striking. This functional approach envisioned a wearable machine built for a rugged, hands-on lifestyle.

The matte black skeleton dial provides a window into the technical architecture of the HUB1280 calibre. Key components, including the column wheel at 6 o'clock and the open chronograph mechanism, are exposed to highlight the precision of the movement. This flyback chronograph incorporates a silicon escapement and offers a robust 72-hour power reserve.

Limited to 200 pieces, the Big Bang Unico SR_A represents a deliberate broadening of the collaboration into a more obtainable format.

For Hublot, the release also serves as a tribute to the 20th anniversary of its first All Black timepiece. It stands at the crossroads of watchmaking and contemporary culture, driven by the same commitment to material innovation that has defined the partnership since it began in 2020.
