Valentino Garavani Receives Title of “Commandeur de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres”
By SENATUS News | 16 October 2012

Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani, best known as Valentino, the Italian fashion designer and founder of the Valentino SpA brand and company has been honored by Aurelie Filippetti, the French Minister of Culture and Communication, with the recognition of “Commandeur de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres,” the highest title in French culture.

This is the third honor that Valentino Garavani has received in France including the “Legion d’Honneur” and the “Medalle de la ville de Paris.”

This recognition follows the amazing success of the recent New York City Ballet Fall Gala for which Mr. Garavani designed thirty costumes for the four ballet performances.

Moreover, on November 28th, a magnificent retrospective exhibition will be established at the Somerset House in London called, “Valentino: Master of Couture,” dedicated to the art of his famous haute couture designs.
