SECTS Shop is the 1st-of-its-kind fashion retail concept which focuses on "four types of Singapore men" to cater to varying styles, and offers international menswear brands and unisex accessories, bags, shoes and even houseware.
Opened at the newly-launched Orchard Gateway shopping mall in Singapore, the retail boutique is founded and curated by designers behind the fashion label DEPRESSION, Kenny Lim and Andrew Loh, and features new-to-Singapore brands.
Occupying 1,600 square feet of space, SECTS Shop carries over 20 brands, from countries ranging from Hong Kong, Thailand, Taipei, Korea and Japan from Asia, to Poland, Germany, UK from Europe, as well as Australia.
One of the prominent brands include Human Potential, a Korean label which is one of K-Pop superstar G-Dragon’s favourites.
The in-store decor has a modern 'Oriental Martial Arts' vibe, with Kenny Lim adding, "We didn’t want to create just any other multi-label shop."
Instead, we created a concept store with a pugilistic theme – curating brands to represent the 'masters'.
In conjunction with the store unveiling was the launch of the founder's label DEPRESSION’s new diffusion line, NOT COOL ENOUGH (NCE), in what is Singapore’s first K-Pop inspired street wear brand.
The occasion saw the release of NCE VERSION 2.0, after a successful sell-out of the line's first season.
Thanks to the Korean wave, streetwear is back, and with a more progressive edge.
"We’ve decided to infuse elements of DEPRESSION into street fashion, which we think, will lead world trends for the next few years," explained Andrew Loh.
Its official opening on 14 June was attended by celebrities such as singers Jocie Guo Mei Mei, actress Julie Tan, host Danny Yeo, Wild Rice Creative Director Ivan Heng, 91.3FM DJ Charmaine Yee, MTV’s VJ Rich and many other industry personalities. See more photos.
