Balmain has unveiled its first-ever red carpet capsule collection.
Dubbed the "44 François Premier" in reference to the address of the brand's original couture workshop under its founder Pierre Balmain, the collection comprises 10 show-stopping evening looks.
Images showcasing the collection reveal full-length, off-the-shoulder gowns, some include military detailing, asymmetric hemlines and lashings of sequins, crystals and tulle, on black, blue, green and sparkly metallics.
"Working on #LE44FRANCOISPREMIER collection is a bit of a palette cleanser for me – a chance to return to the beginnings of this house, with the single driving goal being that of creating unique and exquisite pieces, far removed from editorial and runway pressures," explains Balmain's creative director Olivier Rousteing.
"With this collection, I wanted to make very light and elegant eveningwear, knowing that we get a lot of requests from celebrities that are in my circle of women I love."
The move continues recent development for the house, which had collaborated recently with lingerie brand Victoria's Secret as well as cosmetics giant L'Oréal Paris on fashion and makeup roll-outs respectively, opening up the label to a larger customer base.
