Blake Lively was undisputedly the Queen of the recent red carpet season in Cannes, and she now reprises her role for Italian luxury label and fronts the new, softer Eau de Toilette from the Gucci Première fragrance line.
In fact, the original Eau de Parfum launched in 2012 was itself first inspired by the Gucci Première Couture collection that had debuted at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, and the headline-grabbing presence of the American actress this year is a timely reminder of the glamour of Old Hollywood.
The fragrance is an extension of the bespoke evening gowns that Gucci created for Hollywood's leading ladies, including Salma Hayek Pinault, Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz, Naomi Watts and Kate Beckinsale.
Blake Lively stole the limelight with her red carpet arrivals in May, firstly at the opening ceremony and premiere of Grace of Monaco at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, wearing a Gucci Première gown, donning a two-tone bordeaux silk-chiffon fully pleated gown featuring a geometric neckline, open back, fitted bodice and high side slit.
She later joined husband Ryan Reynolds for the premiere of his latest movie The Captive, this time wearing a Gucci Première black and white silk crepe 50s-inspired strapless gown featuring a full skirt and a dramatic train, while he wore Gucci black satin peak lapel one-button Signoria tuxedo with a white evening shirt, white satin bowtie, black silk cummerbund and white leather lace ups.
On what adds to her show-stopping appearances, Lively commented, "For me, fragrance is bottled confidence. You spray it and you immediately feel empowered."
There’s a sensuality that comes with fragrance and there’s a power that fragrance has on other people."
On the new Gucci Première Eau de Toilette which is a lighter, brighter, and more delicate incarnation of the Eau de Parfum, she elaborates, "But while Gucci Première represents a red carpet moment or a big night out, the new Eau de Toilette version is softer."

It has all the great presence of the original, but dialed down and freshened up. You really can wear it as your everyday fragrance."
The composition of the new Eau de Toilette opens with accords of bergamot and orange blossom that evoke the smell of vintage champagne. Continuing on, the heart offers an intensive bouquet of freesia, Bulgarian rose and jasmine embroidered with musk, whilst smoky leather, creamy woods and patchouli form its base.
Achieve an unfading radiance with the fresh, sparkling scent combining presence and sensual femininity.
The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Toilette.
