Corum's iconic Golden Bridge timepiece, a baguette-shaped tourbillon movement with decoration inspired by San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge encased in a tonneau-shaped case, has embodied its fine watchmaking expertise and avant-garde spirit.
Now, for the first time since its first launch in 1980, Corum has succeeded in achieving the technical feat of combining the timepiece's vertical movement into a round shape.
A look at the baguette-shaped movement of the Golden Bridge Automatic
A rectangular movement in a circular case, a macro infrastructure inspiring micro engineering, the NEW Corum Golden Bridge is a symbol of a bridge between two fields of excellence – watchmaking and architecture.
With a touch of high jewellery, five unique pieces each made from white gold or rose gold are illuminated with almost seven carats of jewels: diamonds, rubies, sapphires and a whole rainbow of baguette-cut precious stones.
Each round case measures 43 mm in diameter and are further embellished by 108 gemstones.
Inside, the manually wound CO213 calibre features a variable inertia balance wheel beating at the frequency of 19,200 vibrations per hour to give 40 hours of power reserve.
On the dial, elegant faceted hands display the hours and minutes over fine appliqué indexes. And the heart, a sapphire crystal bridge and a gold mainplate engraved with fern motifs.
Water resistant up to 30 meters, each of the five unique Corum Golden Bridge comes with an alligator-leather strap with a gold folding clasp.
