Ferrari has announced plans to build a new theme park inside the PortAventura Resort located near Barcelona in Spain having chosen this location because PortAventura attracts approximately four million visitors every year, with half of them coming from outside Spain.
The entire project will require an overall investment of 100 million euros and will be a follow-up to the Ferrari World Theme Park in UAE which was inaugurated back in 2010.

Set to open its doors sometime in 2016, the new Ferrari Land theme park will cover no less than 75,000 square meters and will include the fastest-accelerating and highest vertical roller-coaster on the continent.
In addition, the world's first Ferrari-themed five-star hotel will be constructed within the PortAventura resort and will have 250 rooms, restaurants as well as a driving simulator.
"After the success of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, we received many, many requests to develop new amusement parks," Andrea Perrone, head of Ferrari’s branding operations.
"We carefully sifted through the various proposals and decided to accept Investindustrial’s because it is a very solid plan developed by competent people that will bring the magic of Ferrari to Spain, a nation where we have many supporters and enthusiasts, and to which large numbers of tourists flock each year, in part thanks to PortAventura.
