Gregg Arthur set to croon at Victoria Theatre on 3 May 2024

5 April 2024

By Natalie White

The great Tony Bennett once wrote a personal letter to Gregg Arthur, praising his phrasing as "perfection" - it is a note that Arthur keeps to this day, reminding him of the endorsement from an industry heavyweight.

A singer-songwriter, exuding a warm baritone voice, Gregg Arthur is descending upon our shores in Singapore on 3 May, performing at the Victoria Theatre.

I love the way you sing. You’re yourself which makes you an original singer. Your phrasing is perfection” Tony Bennett

Praised by his contemporaries and the press, Australian vocalist and composer Gregg Arthur follows in the footsteps of Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, and Tony Bennett as one of the great interpreters of The Great American Songbook.

Gregg Arthur takes the stage with this new concert featuring his most requested classics from composers Cole Porter, George & Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Rodgers & Hart, Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington and more.

He will be accompanied by those who are unfamiliar, Australian jazz royalty including pianist Peter Locke, bassist Craig Scott, drummer Andrew Dickeson and guest artists Craig Walters on tenor saxophone and guitarist Charlie Meadows.
