XSCAPE, a brand new posthumous album by Michael Jackson has just been released on 13 May.
Epic Records Chairman and CEO L.A. Reid is the executive producer who mined the Estate of Jackson’s archives, granted unlimited access to the treasures spanning four decades of material on which Jackson had completed his vocals, then teamed up with top producers including include global hitmakers Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate and John McClain to "contemporize" the songs while retaining Jackson’s essence and integrity.
"Modern music and artistry would look and sound completely different if not for the groundbreaking contributions Michael Jackson gifted to the world," remarked L.A. Reid.
"Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with. We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world."
Introducing the Producers
In all, XSCAPE will feature eight brand new recordings and the Deluxe Edition will include a selection of the recordings in their original form.
The title of this album honors Michael’s album naming process. He had always chosen a song from the album to name his projects and, beginning with THRILLER, used only one word titles, each with an edgy quality to them.
The same applies to XSCAPE.
And escape into the world of Michael Jackson we will.
'Love Never Felt So Good' Michael Jackson ft. Justin Timberlake
Amongst the leading performers to collaborate on vocals in XSCAPE is Justin Timberlake, who had performed tributes to the late King of Pop with renditions of "Human Nature" during his 20/20 Experience Tour.
Singing the track entitled "Love Never Felt So Good" an update of an old 1983 cut, the music blends Jackson’s signature styles with Timberlake’s polished Rhythm & Blues as well as Funk/Soul sound from the latter's latest album.
The accompanying music video, which premiered today, celebrates the successful collaboration in the most appropriate way: a dance tribute.
