Five-star luxury urban resort Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore unveils Legends Bar, an alluring new establishment with a line-up of cocktails inspired by golfing greats.

Sharing the grounds of Laguna National Golf Resort Club, home to two championship golf courses, Legends Bar offers the perfect space to chill out and cool down while taking in picturesque views of the lush surroundings.

"Legends Bar is inspired by Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore’s unique location, with a history of hosting major champions such as Ernie Els and Sir Nick Faldo. We want to provide our guests with a comfortable and classy spot to enjoy drinks wittily concocted to honour golf luminaries from all around the world," says Eric Piatti, General Manager of Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore.

Guests can look forward to warm Thai hospitality and the infusion of exotic tropical ingredients, influenced by Dusit Thani’s roots in the Land of Smiles. A comprehensive list of wines, spirits, sake, and mocktails will also be available at the venue.

Every corner of the warmly lit space is filled with rich green foliage, complementing undulating cushioned wooden booths and tables that offer cosy nooks for intimate conversations. The result is an intriguing and welcoming environment that evokes a sense of wonder and desire for exploration.

Once restrictions lift, Nu-funk, house, and soft jazz music will play throughout, putting imbibers in a relaxed mood as they indulge in their drinks of choice. For a light-hearted touch to further enliven the atmosphere, Legends Bar also provides fun table games – think a micro-sized, compact miniature golf set, or Play Nine – a card game golfers and non-golfers alike are sure to appreciate.

From Tiger Woods to Phil Mickelson, the masters who have made their mark on the golf course are given due respect with classy and refined yet tongue-in-cheek artisanal cocktails created in their name, prepared by an in-house mixologist.

Your Daly Smash ($18++) is inspired by John Daly, a two-time Major champion renowned for his long drives off the tee - known as "smashing it". The name playfully combines wellknown golf slang with a cocktail technique - to muddle, or smash. Refreshing and herbaceous, the drink is a thirst-quenching reinvention of the classic Gimlet. Dry Widges gin is paired with fresh lime and chili padi tincture for a sour tang and kick of spice, and is finished off with a pink peppercorn salt rim and basil.

Fancy a fruitier drink? Intriguingly named Mango Madre ($18++), meaning “Mango Mother” in Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese, this sweet cocktail is reliable and comforting, a drink to count on after a long game in the hot sun. Its inspiration is Ariya Jutanugarn, a Thai professional golfer who plays on the American LPGA Tour. Born in Bangkok, Jutanugarn is the first golfer from Thailand to win a major championship, and was the number one golfer in the Women’s World Golf Rankings in 2017. A light tropical take on the martini, the drink also alludes to Jutanugarn’s heritage by choosing to highlight a fruit with strong cultural ties to Thailand.

The bold and cheeky Long Banana ($21++) is another fruit-based alternative on the menu. Smokey and decadent, its tropical flavours are designed to whisk one on an exciting vacation far away, if only for a moment. Banana, rum from the Caribbean and sherry from Spain make for a long and slow drink to be savoured over ice, a nod to retired golfing legend Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus is known for his long drives on the course, holding the world record for the longest putt ever made in professional golf, achieved in the 1964 Tournament of Champions at Desert Inn and measuring a whopping 110 feet.

Eponymously named mocktail Arnold Palmer ($12++) was inspired by the professional American golfer widely regarded as one of the greatest and most charismatic players in history. The creation is a Thai-infused take on the non-alcoholic beverage of the same name, a combination of iced tea and lemonade which Arnold Palmer was known to request for. Using tonic instead of tea, and lemongrass instead of lemonade, Legends Bar has recreated a clubhouse classic.
