Cartier launches the fourth installation of its "True Love has a Colour and a Name" short films, directed by Luca Guagagnino and scripted by Drake Doremus. Building on the theme from the previous three films, the latest storyline involves a marriage proposal between two long-lost and separated lovers brought together by a wedding occasion, set against the romantic backdrop of Paris.
The film features English actor Oliver Jackson Cohen and Taiwan's Michelle Chen 陳妍希 who admits to having experienced a love story similar to that of her character and believes that Destinée love story is more than just an ideal.
Michelle also recounts her enjoyable experience working with director Guadagnino: “He really encourages us to give our point of view, to be more creative... He gives us the key ideas to set us on the right path.”
I love the idea that there is one person in the world who is made for you.
The story begins in Paris, at a setting near the iconic Eiffel Tower where a wedding is set to begin. The main characters, invited separately by the bride and groom are initially unbeknownst of each other's attendance, but very quickly realize that they are very much still in love.
Seized by the moment, Oliver's character dashes off, goes across the city and into a Cartier store.
Returning to the party, he confesses to Michelle's character in Mandarin, his deep regrets at letting her go years ago and proposes to her with a Cartier engagement ring. She says yes.
