In 2011, A. Lange & Söhne presented the SAXONIA THIN, an addition to the watch manufacture's SAXONIA line, as the thinnest model of its entire collection.
Fast forward five years, the simplistic yet elegant two-hand watch has been updated with a subtly reworked dial consistent with the design ethos of the rest of the SAXONIA family.
The Saxonia, Saxonia Automatic and Saxonia Dual Time launched in 2015
Changes include the baton-style hour markers in solid gold, now slightly extended and moved closer to the bezel. The result of these subtle changes gives the argenté-coloured solid-silver dial extra prominence.
Unveiled at the SIHH in Geneva earlier this year in 40mm costing S$32,100, the Dresden watch label has just announced an additional SAXONIA THIN in 37mm, priced at S$21,300.
For watch aficionados and admirers who have longed to own a Lange timepiece, there is no more an appropriate time to get in on the action. It wouldn't be a stretch to say this entry-level timepiece is both a "gateway drug" as well as a grail watch!
Both sizes are available in pink and white gold, and are powered by the manually wound calibre L093.1 movement which is 2.9 millimetres thick and features the Lange-typical finissage of all parts.
Its classic quality hallmarks include the German-silver three-quarter plate decorated with Glashütte ribbing, solarised winding-train wheels, three screwed gold chatons, 21 jewels, in all 167 movement parts, as well as a hand-engraved balance cock.
