NEW YORK Continuing its 161-year history of offering products that are the only one of their kind, HAMMACHER SCHLEMMER introduces The Only 3D Web Camera.
Its "eyes" are dual cameras that record a stereoscopic image, or anaglyph using the same technology as in 3D movies. The video is compatible with Internet messaging service such as Windows Live Messenger, Skype, AOL Instant Messenger, OoVoo, Videora, Windows Movie Maker, Stereoscopic Player, and most other video applications.
The Only 3D Web Camera simply plugs into your PC's USB port and can hang by its "arms" from your monitor or stand on its legs on top of your desk.
"A person needs nothing more than traditional 3D cyan/red glasses to see 3D images and videos of himself or of others,"
"It's as if you're coming out of the monitor."
Hammacher Schlemmer's General Manager, Fred Berns. The device's two cameras can capture video at 800 x 600 resolution at 15 frames per second and it can focus in up to 12" away for dramatic 3D images. The 3D video can also be recorded and uploaded to online video sharing sites such as YouTube and Facebook-allowing you to share your creations with family and friends. The camera also provides picture-in-picture videos-displaying two separate images on the same screen. If you want to chat in 2D or your viewing party doesn't have 3D glasses, simply switch to 2D mode. Sets of 3D glasses are included to share.
The Only 3D Web Camera is available from Hammacher Schlemmer for USD$99.95. To check out The Only 3D Web Camera,
