Fashion Tales from the Orient is an exhibition held as part of Chinese Culture Week (CCW) at the National Design Centre in Singapore.
An annual affair conceptualised around the idea of celebrating Chinese cultural traditions, lifestyle and interaction with local & international community, CCW offers a series of activities that highlights Chinese heritage and contemporary Chinese culture in a modern and engaging way.
By demonstrating the evolution of Chinese culture both through the ages and in different cities, CCW promotes cultural development, trade and its related industries by facilitating business across cultures through intercultural exchange featuring the creations of top fashion designers from Singapore and China.
The fashion exhibit features top Chinese designer Lan Yu, and Singapore's Frederick Lee, Kevin Seah, Chi Chi Von Tang, Time Taken to Make a Dress and Something Old Something New.
Through this exhibition, the rich tapestry of the Chinese civilisation and lifestyle is presented through a showcase of reinterpreted iconic Chinese fashion pieces.
Fashion Tales of the Orient is open to the public from 10 to 28 September.
