Following its showcase in London, the unconventional exhibition, "Louis Vuitton Series 3" is heading to Singapore, its first and only destination in Asia.
Set at the Marina Bay Sands, it is a remarkable moment for Louis Vuitton as it is the first time a luxury brand is occupying two pavilions by the Marina Bay, set against the iconic Singapore skyline.
The showcase is a fashion exhibition and immersive exhibition that is an exposition of the Louis Vuitton brand from past, present to the future. This is the third of a series of exhibitions, the first two of which had previously travelled to Tokyo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Seoul and Rome.
This time round, the focus is on Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière's inspirations for his Fall/Winter 2015/2016 Collection, as well as on the savour faire of the Maison's products.
A series of rooms form the interactive experience, allowing visitors to immerse physically into a journey through the world of Louis Vuitton.
The first to greet visitors is an oversized neon-lit logo, which initially served as the seal of Louis Vuitton, the founder, who launched his house as a trunk maker in 1854. This logo is found on numerous trunks and suitcases as a precious hallmark on locks and metal closures. Ghesquière revived this logo from the archives bringing it to life through a new, modern accessories collection.
The LV circle reflected in multiple lights symbolizes how this century-old logo has travelled from the past to the present, projecting us further into the endless future.
The second is the 'Master Mind' room which features the iconic Louis Vuitton trunk in the middle, opened with holographic displays, peering into both the heritage and mind of Ghesquière as he seeks inspiration from the famed legacy of the French luxury house.
Next, a mirrored 'Artists Hands' room presents workstations for visitors to seat and experience an artist's hands at work. The video playing on the desk top show the creation of two of Louis Vuitton's New Classics, the La Petite Malle and the Dora.
The 'Infinite Show' presents the excitement of a live fashion show, with 48 looks presented on the full body-length screens, with models walking toward the visitor. With a clever placement of mirrors, the runway show reflects into an eternity...
The second floor of the exhibit houses the Accessories Gallery, featuring avatars/mannequins from artist Marte Mei van Haaster to display the handbags, jewellery and footwear from the fall collection of the label.
The 'Walk-In Wardrobe' showcases the myriad possibilities to dress up for any occasion, with select accessories and ready-to-wear pieces and a fur coat to match.
The exhibition runs from 28 November through 23 December at the South Crystal Pavilion at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, amirror of Louis Vuitton's first and only Island Maison situated at the North Crystal Pavilion.
