Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad has quickly established himself as a main attraction on the Haute Couture Week scene in Paris. This season, the rippling embroidery, pleating in waves around the waist, Watteau backs mimicking waterfalls, whirlpools of tulle at the shoulders, plunging necklines, a swimsuit bodice with a crystal-encrusted mermaid overlay, were an evocation of water.
Crystals took the place of beads of condensation on immaculate gowns, intricate embroidery the place of crystallized art.
