CHANEL Paris in Rome goes to Beijing
By Women's Fashion Week | 1 June 2016

CHANEL presented the Paris in Rome 2015/16 Métiers d’art collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld on May 31st, 2016 in Beijing. First staged last December in Teatro N°5 in Cinecittà in Rome, Federico Fellini’s favorite studio, the Paris in Rome show was reimagined in a new setting in 751D-PARK in Beijing, with a décor of a black and white movie set of a livelier quarter of a Paris of yesteryear with Café terraces welcoming guests to see the collection.

The Paris in Rome collection is about telling a roman tale inspired by the history of cinema and French actresses acting in Italian movies by Italian directors.

This marks the first time in which CHANEL hosts a show in Beijing, also known as the hub of the Chinese movie industry. It is also the second occasion that the French luxury label has brought the artistry and inoovation of Karl Lagerfeld to China. It first presented the Paris-Shanghai 2009/10 Métiers d'art Collection in December 200 on the barges of the Huangpu river. Furthermore, the Little Black Jacket exhibitions were held in both Shanghai and Beijing in 2013.
