TAG Heuer has inaugurated an important year at LVMH Watch Week in Milan with the debut of the TAG Heuer Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph. This landmark release adds the rattrapante complication to the storied collection for the first time, blending the heritage of an icon with the brand's most cutting-edge watchmaking expertise. By integrating this complex function, the brand demonstrates how exceptional history can be reimagined through a modern, high-end lens.

The timepiece is housed in a brand new 42mm grade-5 titanium case meticulously crafted by in-house experts. While it maintains the signature peaked lugs and clarity that Jack Heuer first introduced in 1963, the architecture has been elevated with refined, elongated pushers and a dedicated split-seconds button elegantly integrated at the nine o'clock position. The finessed glassbox design creates a magnifying effect on the dial, ensuring that every detail of the watch's intricate face is emphasized.

Transparency is a central theme of this new model, featuring a translucent sapphire glass dial that offers a clear view of the hand-finished movement. The subsidiary dials are constructed from the same sapphire material to provide enhanced depth, while a curved flange follows the crystal's profile to minimize visual errors. Through the sapphire caseback, the movement appears to float, allowing owners to admire the craftsmanship from every angle.

At the heart of the watch lies the Calibre TH81-01, a movement developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. Comprised of more than 350 components, this grade-5 titanium engine is finished entirely by hand using over ten distinct techniques, including black polishing and hand-beveling. It is crowned with a signature hand-engraved checkered flag pattern and an oscillating weight shaped like the TAG Heuer shield.

Beating at a high frequency of 5Hz, the movement ensures peak precision and offers a 65-hour power reserve. The watch is completed with a black rubber strap featuring textile embossing and red stitching, secured by a titanium folding clasp. This exceptional addition to the TAG Heuer Carrera family is scheduled for availability in June 2026.
