Panerai Forged Titanium PAM01629 debuts a new era of technical artistry - Watches & Wonders 2026 #WatchesandWonders2026

Panerai has always understood that true innovation is rooted in the depth of its archives. The Maison continues this legacy by looking back to the iconic Ref. 6152/1 from the 1960s to inspire its latest creation, the Luminor Forged Titanium PAM01629. This timepiece is a striking limited edition of only 100 pieces, designed to honor the brand's history as a supplier of professional instruments to the Italian Navy while projecting that heritage into the future.

The centerpiece of this watch is the introduction of forged titanium, a material first for the Maison. This advanced material is created by bonding two different grades of titanium under the immense heat and pressure of a forging hammer. The process transforms the metal using techniques inspired by traditional metalworking, resulting in structural cohesion and a singular surface character.

Once forged, finishing treatments reveal a natural, wave-like pattern of contrasting grey tones. Because these textures vary with every case, no two watches will ever appear identical. The organic effect calls to mind the fluidity of sea currents or the layered striations found in natural stone, resonating with the maritime world that continues to shape Panerai.

Forged titanium is not only visually arresting but also technically superior, offering high strength and corrosion resistance while remaining 40 percent lighter than traditional steel. This ensures the commanding 47mm case sits comfortably on the wrist, featuring a flat crown protecting bridge and a matte finish. The anthracite sun-brushed dial interacts beautifully with light, complemented by beige Super-LumiNova on the hands and numerals for perfect legibility in any environment.

Beneath a domed sapphire crystal lies the hand-wound P.3000 calibre, a precision movement that reflects the robust architecture of historic military instruments. Visible through the see-through caseback, the movement features two spring barrels that provide a reliable three-day power reserve. Every individual watch undergoes rigorous underwater testing to ensure it meets Panerai's unwavering standards for durability.

The Panerai Luminor Forged Titanium PAM01629 is presented with a light beige calf scamosciato strap and an additional black rubber strap for marine use. This exclusive timepiece will be available in Panerai boutiques starting from November 2026, housed in a deluxe cherry blue wood case. It stands as a definitive testament to how the brand continues to merge Swiss horological expertise with a fearless commitment to technical evolution.
