Cillian Murphy is Montblanc's Mark Maker in "What Moves You, Makes You" Brand Campaign

Montblanc’s latest global brand campaign – "What Moves You, Makes You," energizes the Maison's mission to inspire people to convey their potential in their own words, as well as celebrating those who have found their path to rephrasing the codes of success for the 21st century.

The campaign underscores Montblanc's core belief that everyone can leave a mark, not only by leaving a stamp on the way but appreciating and pursuing endeavours that excite at every turn. With this new campaign, Montblanc introduces the 'Mark Makers', enthusiastic doers who pursue what they love.

Actor Cillian Murphy joins the current Mark Maker contingent including award-winning director Spike Lee, actor, singer and writer Chen Kun and actress Xin Zhi Lei.

In the new campaign, Cillian is seen sporting pieces from the Montblanc UltraBlack Collection conveying the message that Montblanc products are made to accompany you on your journey as you pursue what you love. The collection consists of cross category products — Writing Instrument, Leather, Watch and New Technology, united by an all black design theme.

"Black is the Maison's essence, and is core to the brand’s identity, even as it evolved over the years to become the Maison of Luxury Business Lifestyle. The pieces and their functionality, while unified by their black design, were carefully selected based on the everyday needs and mindset of those who don’t just strive to succeed, but who leave a mark with everything they do, always with meaning and purpose," says Nicolas Baretzki, Montblanc CEO.

On the appeal of his craft to him, Cillian explains, "They say Irish people are great storytellers, you know, that old cliché but I love a story in every form since I was a kid, originally books and then I got involved in theatre and then film and television, but for me it's always been the emotion of the story."

The emotion is the thing that is key for me. If I don't feel altered by it, by the story then it hasn't worked for me, as a performer and as a viewer. I like people to go to a theatre and come out feeling winded and emotionally shattered."
