Swiss watchmaker Corum has reproduced the striking, artistic nude portraits by French photographer Dani Olivier on its iconic Bubble wristwatch in a pair of limited editions that bring photographic art to the wrist.
It all started in 2008 when in search of a new artistic direction, Olivier experimented with using light projection on female bodies.
At first he used lines that we've become familiar with in the TRON movie, then added animal prints, and other psychadelic patterns onto models' naked forms-- the shapes and contours of his projections morph as his subjects moved.
Preferring to work with dancers, his shoots are actually recorded in slow-motion, letting the light patterns to fall as they do. Eschewing photoshop and post-production manipulation, Olivier's shots are a final product purely from what is captured.
Two of Olivier's distinctive artwork has been miniaturised onto the Bubble's dial, first launched in 2015.
Using high-resolution printing, two photographs feature in the timepieces coated in black PVD, re-emphasizing the jet-black backdrop. At 47mm, the Corum Heritage Bubble - Dani Olivier comes in an oversize that fans of the watch manufacture have come to love and embrace.
Available in two limited editions of 88 watches each, the final 88th piece consistent with Corum's recent Bubble offerings, is a one-off unique piece distinguished by a striking red-gold bezel.
