MB&F Legacy Machine Split Escapement in Titanium

23 July 2019

By Peter Vossner

First launched in 2017, the MB&F Legacy Machine Split Escapement was made available in four different versions all in 18K white gold cases, with "frosted" dial plates in blue, ruthenium, rose gold or yellow gold.

Unlike the other Legacy Machines on offer, this LM SE piece was exceptional with the impulse jewel, anchor and escapement wheel moved to opposite end of the engine, below the base plate, allowing the full beauty of the Legacy Machine Split Escapement with its oversized flying balance wheel to take centerstage, to oscillate, to hypnotise.

The secret behind this particular execution involved an extra-long shaft of 12mm that goes right through the movement, connecting the regulating system's essential components.

Now, this new edition in grade 5 titanium, as does its sister models also in the same material, gets a sun-ray, green CVD dial.

The LM SE Titanium Green is limited to 33 pieces and priced at  CHF 64,000 (USD 68K or EUR 59K) before taxes.
