TAG Heuer has taken the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport, firstly launched to great acclaim in 2016, and reimagines the collection. The new timepieces merges the brand’s legendary racing heritage with cutting-edge materials and innovative design, with the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport and TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport.
The launch of the 2024 TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport consisting of six timepieces, aims to further deepen TAG Heuer's connection with its racing DNA, by revisiting and refining the concept to intensify its ties to the world of racing. The new assortment comprises of four chronographs and two chronograph tourbillons, each meticulously crafted to captivate and inspire.
Central to the new timepieces is the distinctive skeleton dial, ingeniously reimagined for better legibility. The intricate pattern, now featuring bold black lines, ensures effortless readability while concealing subtle elements like a shield anchored at its center, a subtle nod to the brand’s iconic logo. This configuration invites enthusiasts to delve deeper into its mechanical allure, echoing the universe of cars.
Adding depth to the dial is an open-worked date disc, layered to mimic the inside of a high-powered engine, further linking the watch to its racing DNA. Superior legibility in low-light conditions is insured with the utilization of Super-LumiNova®.
The four TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport models on offer each representing a unique blend of color and material innovation, offering a glimpse into their intricate inner workings. Three models boast a robust fine-brushed and sandblasted grade-2 titanium case paired with a sandblasted ceramic bezel, emphasizing durability and modernity.
The fourth model stands out with its 18K 5N solid rose gold barrels, featuring gold lugs and a ceramic bezel, while the central body retains the grade-2 titanium construction. Dial colors and finishings complement the case materials, contributing to a striking aesthetic. This attention to detail ensures that every model embodies the passion and precision synonymous with TAG Heuer.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport, comes in two versions. The first is an all-black tourbillon, and the second, a luxurious gold version, both 44mm in diameter.
The first TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport features a bezel, crafted from forged carbon with grey markings. Its skeleton NAC-coated dial with black grained details and a black flange with grey outline is enhanced with rhodium-plated indexes and hands.
The gold tourbillon variant exudes luxury with a bi-material construction, made of 18K 5N solid rose gold fine-brushed case, polished stretchers, and a black DLC-coated grade-2 titanium container. Sides of the gold stretchers are hollowed, with a fine-grained finishing. The striking design continues with a 18K 5N solide rose gold bezel featuring gold markings. The NAC-coated skeleton dial displays black grained details and a black flange with a golden outline, complemented by rose gold- plated indexes and hands for better legibility and elegance. The crown, adorned with an 18K 5N rose gold-plated ring, further solidifies the watch’s refined aesthetics.
Both watches have an open caseback, showcasing the movement’s intricate laser-engraved checkered pattern and a colored column wheel, adding to their elegance and legibility. Additionally, the skeletonized dial offers a clear view of the decorated movement plate, ensuring visibility even during the most extreme sporting moments.
