Club 21, Singapore’s leading purveyor of luxury fashion, is encouraging all fashion-lovers to donate fashion items they no longer wear for a charitable cause. All donated designer apparel and accessories will be given a new lease of life through a fundraiser by Club 21’s nonprofit community partner, the Singapore Committee for UN Women.
Proceeds will support three amazing organizations − UN Women Singapore advocates for gender equity, Star Shelter provides a safe place for abused women, and Beautiful People mentors at-risk teenage girls to take charge of their lives.
Linda Locke, Marketing Director Club 21 says: "Customers want to be sure that their donations will go to a good cause.
With Style it Forward, we vet the charities receiving the items and ensure that they have a clear plan on how they will use the items or the proceeds from their sale."
Trina Liang Lin, President of UN Women Singapore, Club 21’s lead partner in this initiative, adds that Club 21 has supported UN Women Singapore since 2009. "Club 21 not only helped collect designer clothes, but was also involved in a number of other areas of UN Women’s with a keen focus on improving the lives of disadvantaged women,” she says.
This year’s Style it Forward collection will take place between November 1st and November 4th at Palais Renaissance (390 Orchard Road #01-04/05; 10.30am-7.30pm weekdays, 11am-6pm weekends).
All new or gently-used designer fashion items are gratefully accepted. Donations will benefit the organizations through Buy To Save, a charity sale organised by UN Women.
