Sir Sean CONNERY and Friends Kick off Tartan Week and Work the Runway for Friends of Scotland Organization. Marking its seventh year, Dressed to Kilt has been dubbed “the highest profile Scottish event in the United States.” The highly-anticipated event features kilted gents and plaid-clad ladies strutting their stuff down the runway for an A-list of judges. Traditional kilts as well as fashion-forward garb are showcased in a lavish display of Scottish pride. This year proceeds from Dressed to Kilt benefit the Wounded Warriors program and the Paralyzed Veterans of America through Friends of Scotland, a non-profit corporation dedicated to advancing contemporary Scottish interests in the United States. WHERE THE FUNDS GO We believe that we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude and thanks to the young men and women on both sides of the Atlantic that have risked their lives to help and protect all of us. We are a totally apolitical organization, but we are quite outspoken when it comes to acknowledging thedebt that we owe to these courageous young men and women, Therefore funds from this year’s event are being raised for the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Wounded Warriors organization and the Erskine Hospital in Scotland. As well, we would like to be able to offer scholarships in the medical field to help returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. We thank all of you who have come to our event during these difficult times to support our returning veterans. The Friends Of Scotland is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to advancing contemporary Scottish interests and meeting contemporary Scottish needs in the United States.
