Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux - a rendezvous under the moonlight

2 March 2023

The most popular of Van Cleef & Arpels' poetic complication timepieces, the Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux plays out that most romantic of scenes when lovers kiss.

Now that kiss can be repeated a thousand times over thanks to this new interpretation. The principle is unchanged: boy and girl meet in the middle of this lovers bridge; she counts the hours as she advances towards their rendezvous while he crosses his half in 60 minutes. At midday and midnight their lips lock in a tender embrace.

Van Cleef & Arpels has added an on-demand function to this poetic scene which, with a simple press of a pusher, allows our two lovers to be united at any time of day or night.

Their romantic encounter is set against a backdrop of grisaille enamel, a decor that takes some forty hours to complete, and delicately sculpted gold.

This charming scene takes place inside a 38mm white gold case that sparkles with the fire of diamonds.
