#GPHG 2024 Nominee - Iconic - Hublot Classic Fusion Original Yellow Gold 29mm
By SENATUS Editor | 11 November 2024

The first Hublot watch was introduced at the 1980 Basel Fair. At the time, it caused a sensation in the watchmaking world. Its creator, Carlo Crocco, dared produce a solid gold watch fitted with a black rubber strap. The watch was elegant and sporty at the same time, forever changing fashions and going against the rules of traditional horology.

Today, Hublot’s Classic Fusion remains a symbol of Swiss horology, symbolising the quest for the essential in the purest aesthetic form. As an homage to its origins, Hublot presents the Classic Fusion 29mm in a yellow gold case and black rubber strap. A timeless icon, where nothing is superfluous or redundant. Modeled after a ship’s porthole (hublot in French), the watch would give the Swiss watch manufacturer its name.

For Hublot, the gold case, misaligned screws and black rubber strap are not a fashion trend but represent its philosophy, a way of life and the trademark of the brand. Loyal to the original Classic Fusion of the 1980s, the Classic Fusion Yellow Gold 29mm is powered by a quartz movement.
