Where form meets function: IWC Schaffhausen unveils the Ingenieur pop-up in Hong Kong
By SENATUS Magazine | 27 October 2025

IWC Schaffhausen celebrates the visionary design and unparalleled engineering of its iconic Ingenieur collection with a new, immersive pop-up experience at Harbour City in Hong Kong. Spanning over 1,000 square feet, the space is a chic, minimalist sanctuary dedicated to the collection's hallmark principle: "Form und Technik" (Form and Function).

The architectural design itself is a nod to the newest timepieces, featuring elegant black and gold accents that echo the latest models crafted in black ceramic and gold.

A Legacy of Ingenuity

Paying deep tribute to the Ingenieur's design legacy, the space features a curated vintage exhibition that traces the collection's revolutionary roots. At the heart of this history lies the Ingenieur SL, a bold creation from the 1970s by the legendary Gérald Genta, who championed the principle of "less, but better". On display are six vintage Ingenieur watches from the 1980s and 1990s, showcasing an array of complications, including the perpetual calendar, chronograph alarm, and the anti-magnetic 500,000 A/m model.

The New Icons

The pop-up also brilliantly spotlights the latest Ingenieur novelties that debuted at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025.

Ingenieur Automatic 35: Compact yet retaining all its iconic design cues, this model features a slimmer, ergonomic profile. It is offered in three versions: an 18-carat 5N gold model with a gold-coloured dial, or stainless steel models with either a silver-plated or black dial.

Ingenieur Automatic 42 in Black Ceramic: A true marvel of IWC's decades of ceramic expertise, this is the first full-ceramic execution of the Gérald Genta-inspired integrated bracelet design. Crafted from black zirconium oxide ceramic, the case ring, bezel, case back ring, crown, and crown protection ensure lightweight comfort and exceptional durability.

Beyond the showcase, the space serves as a hub for engagement, featuring a long table at the rear dedicated to watchmaking workshops and interactive activations, underscoring IWC's commitment to education.

The pop-up is open from now until December 12, 2025, and can be visited at Shop 207, Level 2, Ocean Centre, Harbour City. This exclusive experience precedes the reopening of IWC's Ocean Terminal boutique, which will unveil a new design concept on December 12, 2025.
