The largest boutique in South East Asia, located at ION Orchard, has opened its doors following a remodeling that sees the unveiling of its collaboration with famed Parisian artist, designer, scenographer, painter and photographer, Bruno Moinard.
The triplex unit infuses the French art de vivre alongside multiple references to Singapore as a Garden City, and spans a total retail space of 688 square metres, in including the Le Salon Cartier for discerning clients on Level 3.
The façade of the store features an exterior glass façade of twenty metres in length, and is patterned with palm trees and raindrops to give a sense of privacy and exclusiveness, yet transparent enough for the clients to take in the sights of Orchard Road.
Inside, the boutique boasts white wood, beige carpet and wall hangings, as well as Mydriaz chandeliers - handmade in Paris and of solid polished brass - hang at differing levels across all halls and help set a light colour scheme with the imported European handmade panels made from wood, plaster work or champagne bronze.
The first floor's centrepiece backdrop is the Cartier panther is seen nestling amongst the tropical environment, referencing to Singapore's very own flora and fauna – carved in bas- relief on a plaster panel. Installed in the stairwell between the first and second floor, this sculpted piece of work is a custom-made especially for the Cartier flagship boutique in Singapore.
The second floor features high and fine jewellery, whilst the third floor transforms into a luxurious apartment with comfortable furnishings, a dining area decked with a wine cellar and a cocktail bar.
Through all the different spaces of the boutique, the Straits Chinese (also known as Peranakan) concept is a theme that runs consistently through multiple rich artefacts and displays to further elaborate on the splendour of Singaporean culture.
