Jannik Sinner defeated home favourite Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in the men's singles final at The US Open Championships held at Flushing Meadow in New York City.
In doing so, he becomes the first Italian man to win this championship. He is also just the fourth man to win the Australian and US Open titles in the same year since both tournaments were held on hard courts from 1988.
After the match, Sinner reflected on how it felt to win the singles tournament with Rolex by his side. Sinner says: “This title, for me, means so much and for my team who supports me each day, the people who are close to me. I feel very honoured and privileged to be part of the Rolex family. We have been together for four years and winning these kind of titles together is one of the nicest feelings.”
The Rolex Testimonee keeps his mantle as World No. 1 Sinner with a tour-leading six titles in 2024, and has moved 4,105 points clear of his nearest challenger Alexander Zverev in the battle to claim ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by PIF honours.
